Our real ales are gravity fed in the traditional way straight from the barrel.

We serve a selection of regular and guest ales from both local and national breweries. The following
beers are available on a regular basis:


Mighty Oak's "Maldon Gold":

 

Brewed using only Maris Otter pale malt for a light, golden ale with Biscuity malt flavour.  Mount Hood and First Gold hops give a distinctive Citrus character along with a long, dry, bitter finish. 

 CHAMPION BEER OF BRITAIN (2nd Place) 2007

 

Mighty Oak’s "IPA":

Delicate honey and vanilla tones complement a moderate bitterness in this well-balanced amber session beer. First Gold and Goldings hops.

 
Adnams "Adnams Best":

Fragrant aromas of finest English hops and malt.  Dry but refreshing with a distinctive lingering bitterness.  Appetising and delicious.

We also stock Orchard Express - a locally produced cider from Delvin End near Sible Hedingham, season permitting.

During the third weekend in July, The Bell holds an annual beer festival featuring approximately 18 beers, a couple of traditional ciders and a selection of summer wines.

In late November, we also hold a small winter beer Festival.
